The Ibiza Half Marathon 2026 delivered the most attended edition in its history this weekend, bringing together more than 4,500 athletes from 32 countries in an event marked by an outstanding atmosphere and ideal weather conditions for sport.
The race, which started in the municipality of Sant Josep de sa Talaia, began promptly at 18:00 and ran smoothly until the last participants crossed the finish line, located at the Port of Ibiza.
In the men’s race, Kenya’s Mangusho Nockson claimed victory after completing the 21.097 kilometres in a time of 1:05:28. He made his decisive move in the final stretch, breaking away from fellow Kenyan David Kiplagat, who finished second, 28 seconds behind. The podium was completed by another Kenyan, Meshack Kirway, sealing a clean sweep for Kenya.
In the women’s race, Uganda’s Annete Chesang secured a commanding victory, crossing the finish line in 1:14:24. Second place went to her compatriot Angeline Chelimo, nearly two minutes behind, while Great Britain’s Johanna Oregan completed the podium.
One of the most notable highlights of this edition was female participation, which reached 50%—a rare figure for events of this level. Among the participants, former professional cyclist and former Spanish road and time trial champion Lourdes Oyarbide stood out, making her debut over the distance with a time of 1:44:00.
During the awards ceremony, institutional representatives, organizers, sponsors and athletes all highlighted the success of an edition that further consolidates the race’s international growth. The high level of international participation, reaching 60.8%, reinforces the Ibiza Half Marathon’s position as one of the standout events on the European calendar.
The Ibiza Half Marathon is organized by the Ibiza Half Triathlon Sports Association, with the support of the Ibiza Town Council, Sant Josep de sa Talaia Town Council and the Consell d’Eivissa. Once again, the volunteer team played a key role, with their dedication proving essential to the success of the event.
