REGULATIONS HALF MARATHON

ART 1º- ORGANISATION

The Ibiza Half Marathon athletic competition is organised by the Ibiza Half Triathlon Sport Association. It is sponsored by the Consell de Ibiza, the Ibiza Town Hall and the San José Town Hall.

ART 2º - COMPETITION

2.1 The distance to be run is 21.097 km. The distance is approved by the Royal Spanish Athletics Federation and is regulated by their competition rules.

2.2 The starting line will be in San José.

2.3 The starting time will be at 9:30 on 30 April, 2017.

2.4 The maximum time for completing the competition is set at a maximum of 2 hours and 30 minutes. The finish line control will close at 12:00.

2.5 Refreshment stations for participants will be located at the 5, 10 and 15 kilometre marks as well as at the finish line area.

2.6 The competition itinerary will be marked using informational signs with arrows. Kilometre markers will be posted on guide signs at each kilometre mark.

2.7 Participation in the competition is open to all, regardless of gender or nationality, whether they are federated or not, as long as participants are born before 1999.

2.8 The registration fees are as follows:

  • €15 from 1 November, 2016 to 31 December, 2016..
  • €20 from 1 January, 2017 to 28 February, 2017.
  • €25 from 1 March, 2017 to 31 March, 2017.
  • €30 from 1 April, 2017 to 23 April, 2017.

Registration closes at midnight on Sunday, 23 April, 2017.

2.9 The race number provided by the organisation must be worn on the athlete’s front and be completely visible. It is obligatory to wear the race number for the duration of the competition.

2.10 To manage timekeeping, the organisation requires participants to use a yellow chip (Championchip). For those who do not have one, the option to rent a white chip (€3) is available to all participants. The chip must be placed in one of the shoes and returned by the participant once the finish line is crossed.

2.11 Any claims must be made to the judge in writing and within a maximum of 30 minutes following the release of provisional classifications. A €100 deposit is required to file a claim.

3.2 Trophies will be awarded at 12:00 to the first 3 finishers in each category, to the first 3 finishers in the absolute category and to the first 3 locals, both males and females.

3.3 The following cash prizes will be awarded for the Men’s and Women’s Absolute category.
